| Let me take you back a few years... I wanted to take up painting again; but the brush did not satisfy me any more nor did it inspired me. By chance, one day, I bought myself a knife, and I could thus spread my paint out across the canvas in thick layers: Inspired! I thus launched my creativity in this way without thinking, “following my instinct”. Of course, I didn’t invent this technique; I had admired the works of wonderfully talented painters who mastered it. Be assured no miracle was realized, and the first tests were trying; but, gradually, through hard work and determination, the images which formed gained in coherence and force: what I brushed corresponded to what I was trying to project. Little by little, I improved my technique, I chose knives which were appropriate for me; I discovered textures and colors which inspired me… My inspiration? The South of my native country - France, Provence, “Le Midi”. Visited. Traversed. Read. Dreamed. Idealized. It is a vision, my vision, the South, its magic colors, its burned landscapes, flooded with sun, invitations for walks without a final destination, that you never want to end. Sometimes, it’s my favourite animals that give me the desire to spread out the color of my oils: cockrals, owls, cats… Take the time to discover my paintings on this site; you can also pay a visit to my site: [link] or simply click on "Mes huiles essentielles" below. The colors are not, despite my efforts, as beautiful as on the fabric of my canvases, but I hope that you will get lots of pleasure from this journey - my journey… Au plaisir, Fabienne Roux |

There isn't a single person or landscape or subject which doesn't possess some interest, although it may not be immediately apparent. When a painter discovers this hidden treasure, other people are immediately struck by its beauty.
